Grandma's Rice Pudding

½ gallon milk (not skim)
1 cup long grain rice (Carolina)
1 Tbsp butter or margarine
Pinch of salt

Put above items in large pot. Bring to boil, then turn down to simmer. Put lid on and cook for approx ½ hour. When rice mixture is finished, mix the following in another bowl:

4 large eggs
1 cup sugar (could be less)
1 Tbsp vanilla

Add small amounts of the hot rice mixture into the egg mixture. When eggs are warm, mix eggs into rice in the pot.

Let stand on stove, no heat, lid on, for approx 15 minutes.

Pour into serving dish, sprinkle cinammon on top, serve warm.
